If you’re planning your weekend and looking for fun things to do in Etobicoke, we’ve got you covered. Our go-to guide has plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained this weekend. Let’s jump in!
1. Mimico Waterfront Clean-Up Day

Where: Amos Waits Park, Mimico Square, 2445 Lake Shore Blvd W, Etobicoke, ON M8V 1C5
With it being Earth Day this Saturday our list starts with some clean-up events! You can join other members of the community and help keep our neighborhoods clean and green! First up there is the Mimico Waterfront Clean-up starting in Amos Waits Park. Take the whole family and join your neighbours to help clean up the beautiful waterfront. Garbage bags, gloves, and snacks will be provided!
2. StopPlastics’ Marie Curtis Park Beach Clean-Up

When: Saturday, April 22nd, 9am – 2pm
Where: Marie Curtis Park, 2 Forty Second St, Etobicoke, ON M8W
If you’ve got some extra energy, you can continue the clean-up over at Marie Curtis Park. StopPlastics is an organization whose mission is to eliminate the use of plastics and they’re facilitating this clean-up to help rid the local environment of plastic and other waste. Bring along your own reusable water bottle, coffee cup, and gloves, and they’ll provide the bio-degradable bags.
3. TRCA Watershed Wide Spring Cleanup at Sam Smith Park

When: Sunday, April 23rd, 9am-3pm
Where: Colonel Sam Smith Park, 3145 Lake Shore Boulevard West, Etobicoke, ON M8V 1L4
And if you miss out on Saturday or you’ve simply got the cleaning bug, you can head over to Colonel Sam Smith Park on Sunday. The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), which is committed to protecting the waterfront in and around Toronto, will be heading up this annual clean-up. Get friends and family together and go along to collect bags, bottles, cans, and any other litter you can find. Note that registration is required for this one.
4. Heritage Antique Market at Cloverdale Mall

When: Sunday, April 23rd, 9am – 5pm
Where: Cloverdale Mall, 250 The East Mall, Etobicoke, ON M9B 3Y8
If you’re avid antiquer, Cloverdale Mall is the place to be on Sunday. This monthly market is back and you never know what hidden gems you might find. Dealers from across Ontario and Quebec gather here to showcase 19th and 20th century items, including furniture, art, and vintage clothing.
5. Project Love ‘s Women’s Spring B(Run)ch

Where: The Grenadier Café, 200 Parkside Dr, Toronto, ON M6R 2Z3
Ladies out there, if you’re up for starting (or continuing) your spring fitness regime and you love to socialize, this could be the perfect event for you. Get together with fellow health-seekers and go for a run followed by brunch. The run starts at the Grenadier Café in High Park and is followed by brunch at Thrive Organic Restaurant in Kensington Market.
6. Bee Workshop at Colonel Sam Smith Park

We seem to hear so much about bees in the news and many would love to learn more about these fascinating creatures. If that sounds like you, you’re in luck. This presentation run by beekeeper Ben Mitchell will teach you everything you need to know about bees in our region, including their habitats and pollination activities. You’ll even have the chance to support the local bee population by building your own bee hotel.
7. In Love with Ukraine Exhibit and Concert

Where: Golden Lion Restaurant & Bar, 15 Canmotor Avenue, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 4E5
If you’re looking for a taste of Ukraine in the middle of Etobicoke, then this event is not to be missed. The exhibition and concert dedicated to the legends of Ukrainian music will feature songs of popular composers and showcase art works of Ukrainian artists.
8. Tatting at Long Branch Library

Where: Long Branch Library, 3500 Lake Shore Blvd W, Etobicoke, ON M8W 1N6
Never heard of tatting? Perhaps not, but if you’ve got time and like to work with your hands, it could be the perfect hobby. You can check out the Fringe Tatters website to learn more, and if you’re intrigued enough to give it a go you can join their group at Long Branch library this Saturday. Of course, if you’re already a seasoned tatter, this is the ideal spot to meet with other enthusiasts and swap tips.
9. Tea and Books at Brentwood Library

If you’re more of a bookworm, the tea and books session at Brentwood library on Friday might be just the spot. This monthly session is the perfect place to find out about new and interesting reads while surrounded by books! Join fellow book-lovers and library staff for a cuppa and a literary chat.
10. Photo and Video Uploading at Brentwood Library

Also at Brentwood library on Friday is a photo and video uploading class. While this stuff is second nature to many, it can be a cause of great frustration to others. If you or someone you know struggles with what to do after you’ve taken your photos, then register for this class and take along your camera and accessories. You’ll learn all about how to upload files, save images, and more.
