With spring in the air, it’s the perfect time to get out about with friends and family. We’ve got a great list of ten fun things to do in Etobicoke this weekend that’s sure to have something for everyone. Let’s get started!
1. Epic Easter Play Date at Swansea Town Hall

When: Saturday, April 8th, 10am – 12pm
Where: Swansea Town Hall, 95 Lavinia Ave, Toronto, ON M6S 3H9
With Easter coming up very soon, this family play date is perfect for getting the kids involved and having fun. This free event is open to anyone and is packed full of activities, including Easter eggs, stories, face painting, crafts, and selfies with Easter Bunny mascots.
2. Easter Extravaganza Bloordale United Church

When: Saturday, April 8th, 10am – 12pm
Where: Bloordale United Church, 4258 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M9C 1Z7
There’ll also be an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny at Bloordale United Church this Saturday as they hold their annual Easter Extravaganza Gift and Craft Sale. Admission is free and you’ll see some beautiful offerings from 35 hand-picked vendors.
3. High Park Easter Egg Hunt

Where: Colborne Lodge, 11 Colborne Lodge Dr, Toronto, ON M6R
Every kid looks forward to a good old Easter egg hunt at this time of year. And what better setting than the beautiful High Park? The annual Easter egg hunt takes place on the grounds of Colborne Lodge Museum, with hunts starting every 30 minutes. There’ll also be lots of other activities including egg dyeing, face painting, crafts, and a visit from the Easter Bunny!
4. Llama Pen Activities at High Park

When: Saturday and Sunday, April 8th and 9th, 11:30am – 2pm
Where: High Park Zoo, 1873 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6R 2Z3
While you’re in High Park, you can also head over to the zoo to get up close and personal with the llamas. Every weekend and holiday, starting this month until October, you can enter the llama pen and feed and pet your new furry friends. You can also get close to other animals including chickens and rabbits!
5. Jane Austen Weekend at Montgomery’s Inn

Where: Montgomery’s Inn, 4709 Dundas St W, Etobicoke, ON M9A 1A8
Cost: Varies per event (registration required)
This is a special weekend for all Jane Austen lovers, as Montgomery’s Inn and other Toronto locations host events in her honour. These include special meals, dance workshops, historical games, and more. Visit JaneAustenDancing for full details.
6. Girls Great Escape at Old Mill

Cost: $356
If you’re looking for a last minute girls’ getaway or simply need some serious ‘you time’, this could be the perfect solution. Old Mill’s Girls Great Escape is a retreat that involves a weekend of fun, fitness, and much needed relaxation. You can enjoy fitness classes, spa treatments, fine dining, wine tasting, and great entertainment (see below)!
7. Rolling Stones Tribute Old Mill

Cost: $20
If you’re a Rolling Stones fan (okay, who isn’t?), you get the chance to see the next best thing this weekend. Hot Rocks is Canada’s number one Rolling Stones tribute band and will be performing in the dining room at Old Mill this Saturday. Cover is $20 (far shy of a concert ticket!) and you always take advantage of the entertainment package if you want to make a weekend of it!
8. Colouring and Conversation at Long Branch Library

Where: Long Branch Library, 3500 Lake Shore Blvd W, Etobicoke, ON M8W
If you missed last week’s colouring class at Humber Bay Library – or you went and loved it – there’s a similar class happening at Long Branch Library this Friday. This one takes place every first and third Friday of the month and gives you the chance to distress and enjoy the company of fellow art-lovers.
9. Scrabble Club at Eatonville Library

If you’re more of a wordsmith than an artists, then the Scrabble club at Eatonville Library might be the perfect fit for you. This club meets every Friday and offers the perfect opportunity to flex that brain and meet some new friends while you’re at it.
10. Spy Club Brentwood Library

If you’ve got a budding detective at home, the spy club at Brentwood Library this Saturday will definitely be worth checking out. This drop-in program for 8-12 year olds comprises a series of challenges and games that teach the skills needed to become a spy. Sounds like fun!
