1. Christmas Memories

Where: Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, 86 Montgomery Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9A 3N5

Cost: $15

Get into the festive spirit with a feel-good Christmas concert! The Etobicoke Community Concert Band will be performing “Christmas Memories” this Friday. You can enjoy traditional seasonal favorites as well as music from a few holiday movies, including Frozen and Polar Express.

2. Holiday Magic Concert and Auction

Where: Humber Valley United Church, 76 Anglesey Blvd, Etobicoke, ON M9A 3C1

Cost: $15 – $30

There’s another lovely concert happening on Friday at Humber Valley United Church. The Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing “Holiday Magic” with seasonal music featuring soprano Jessica Lane. There’ll also be a silent auction so arrive early to see what’s on offer.

3. Free Community Christmas Dinner

Where: Elmbank Community Centre, 10 Rampart Road, Toronto, ON M9V 4L9

Glad Tidings Tabernacle is hosting a community Christmas dinner on Saturday at Elmbank Community Centre. All are welcome to join for food and fun!

4. Gift Wrapping in Support of ESS Support Services

Where: Cloverdale Mall, 250 The East Mall, Etobicoke, ON M9B 3Y8

For some of us, gift-wrapping can be one of the most dreaded tasks of the holidays. Thankfully, there is plenty of help available at your local mall, and happy elves will wrap your gifts while you relax or continue to shop. You’ll find a wrapping stall at Cloverdale Mall with 100% of proceeds benefitting ESS Support Services. There’s also one at Sherway Gardens Mall near the LEGO store, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting youth charity WE.

5. Jazz Vespers at St. Philip’s

Where: St. Phillip’s Anglican Church, 31 St Phillips Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9P 2N7

Combining prayer and music, Jazz Vespers is a wonderful way to worship while enjoying some amazing tunes. Join Toronto singer-songwriter Laura Fernandez this Sunday as she performs at St. Phillip’s Anglican Church.

6. 40th Toronto Maple Leafs Skate for Easter Seals Kids

Where: MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence, 400 Kipling Ave, Etobicoke, ON M8V 3L1

Cost: Spectators $30; participants fundraise minimum $200

It’s time for the annual Maple Leafs Skate for Easter Seals Kids. This Sunday, Maple Leaf fans get a chance to skate alongside some of their favorite players. Participants must raise a minimum of $200 and spectators can watch the fun from the stalls. The proceeds go to Easter Seals Ontario, a charity helping kids with physical disabilities.

7. Samko and Miko Toy Sale

Where: Samko and Miko Toy Warehouse, 77 Fima Crescent, Etobicoke, ON M8W 3R1

If you’re looking for a place to get some great deals on kids’ Christmas gifts, then you’ll love the Samko and Miko Toy Sale. The warehouse is packed with toys, games, books, and more, all at highly discounted prices.

8. Holiday Hike by Councillor Sarah Doucette

Where: High Park (benches across from Grenadier Café), 200 Parkside Dr, Toronto, ON M6R 2Z3

If you manage to find time in the run-up to Christmas, there’s nothing better for the soul than stepping outside and enjoying nature. If you want some company, then you might want to join the Holiday Hike at High Park this Sunday. As well as enjoying the sights and sounds of the park, you’ll get to chat with special guest Councillor Sarah Doucette.

9. Classical Music Series at Montgomery’s Inn

Where: Montgomery’s Inn, 4709 Dundas St W, Etobicoke, ON M9A 1A8

Cost: $30

The Classical Music Series at Montgomery’s Inn continues this Saturday with “Rome and Romance.” Aside from a wonderful concert, you can enjoy a tour of the inn. Refreshments are also provided.

10. Christmas Dinner at Black Creek

Where: Black Creek Pioneer Village, 1000 Murray Ross Pkwy, North York, ON M3J 2P3

Black Creek Pioneer Village sure is a bustling place during December, with lots of family fun to enjoy. This Sunday at various times, there’ll be a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings at the Half Way House Inn. You can venture out into the village before or after to enjoy the atmosphere of Christmas past.
