Now that trick-or-treating is done for the year, we’re naturally moving on to the next big holiday. The beginning of November marks the start of Christmas market season and Etobicoke is in on the action. On our top ten list of fun things to do in Etobicoke this weekend, you’ll find plenty of bazaars, markets, and sales, as well as some other wonderful local happenings. Let’s go!
1. Furniture Bank’s Chair Affair

Where: Casalife, 350 Evans Ave, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 1K5
Cost: $250
Furniture Bank is charity that helps families transition out of displacement or homelessness by providing them with gently used furniture from members of the community. Their signature event, Chair Affair is an auction-based fundraiser that enables the charity to help even more people in need. Top industry designers will be attending along with Chef Michael Smith and entertainer Terence Gown.
2. Islington United Church Craft Sale

Where: Islington United Church, 25 Burnhamthorpe Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9A 1G9
This is just one of lots of sales happening this weekend. Here you’ll find everything from jewelry and knitted items to fabric arts and photography. There’ll also be a quaint tea room for you to enjoy refreshments.
3. Christmas Bazaar at Church of St. Paul the Apostle

Where: Church of St. Paul the Apostle, 2182 Kipling Ave, Etobicoke, ON M9W 4K9
Another great sale this weekend will be happening at Church of St. Paul the Apostle. Choose from a huge selection of hand-made and gently used items, including books, jewelry, Christmas decorations, and clothing. Come hungry as there’ll be a bake table and a tea room serving sandwiches, sweets, tea, and coffee. If that’s not enough for your sale fix, you can also check out the Tinsel, Tea, and Craft Sale at Horner Avenue Seniors’ Centre and the Fall Craft and Bake Sale at Westway United Church, both on Saturday.
4. Franklin Horner Halloween Party

Cost: $5
Don’t put away your costume just yet! If you simply don’t want Halloween to end, then Franklin Horner Community Centre is the place for you this Friday. Their Halloween party will be kicking off at 3pm with a game of bingo, followed by a roast beef dinner.
5. Canada Cooks, Toronto Eats

Where: Montgomery’s Inn, 4709 Dundas St W, Etobicoke, ON M9A 1A8
This celebration of Toronto’s culinary history will see events happening at various locations around the city. If you want to join in the delcious fun you can head over to Montgomery’s Inn to taste and experience the inn’s tradition of baking bread. You can also join special Historic Tavern Experiences at the inn, with a beer tour on Saturday and a cheese tour on Sunday.
6. Cuts for St. Joe’s at Cattiva’s

Where: Cattiva Hair and Esthetics, Humbertown Shopping Centre, 270 The Kingsway, Etobicoke, ON M9A 3T7
This Sunday, you can get a discounted haircut or treatment while helping a great cause. The staff and stylists at Cattiva Hair and Esthetics will be providing cuts and manicures in order to raise money for St. Joe’s and the Promise Campaign. Call ahead to book your spot!
7. Stage & Screen at Church on the Queensway

Where: Church on the Queensway, 1536 The Queensway, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 1T5
Cost: $25-$40
This concert by Toronto Concert Orchestra is being held to raise money for Haven on the Queensway, a charity serving residents of Etobicoke. This fabulous night of live entertainment will include music from Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, Game of Thrones, and more.
8. Robbie Burns Dinner at St. Margaret’s Church

Where: St. Margaret’s Church, 156 Sixth St, Toronto, ON M8V 3A5
Cost: $50
It’s Scottish month and St. Margaret’s Church is celebrating! This evening of traditional food, drink, and entertainment will have you thinking you’ve crossed the pond. There’ll be a haggis parade (sounds very intriguing), a piper, a silent auction, and more.
9. Cloverdale Antique Market and Appraisal Clinic

The Heritage Antique Market is back at Cloverdale Mall this weekend, and this month there’s an appraisal clinic too. Clear out the attic and take along your treasures to see how much they’re worth! Or simply browse the stalls for your next great find.
10. Unbe-leaf-able Fall Colors Family Nature Walk

Where: High Park Nature Centre, 375 Colborne Lodge Dr, Toronto, ON M6R 2Z3
Why not get the whole family outside this Saturday for a lovely fall walk. High Park Nature Centre will be leading this walking tour of the park to check out the beautiful colors of the season. Aside from enjoying the stunning sights and sounds of nature, you can learn about the science behind the fall leaves and even jump into a pile of them!
