March break is a perfect time for adventure. Luckily, there are plenty of events around Toronto you can attend that will pretty much guarantee that you and the family have a wonderful time. To help you decide, we’ve come up with a list of ten fun things to do around Toronto for March break. Let’s dive right in.

1. March Break Big Adventure at Toronto Zoo

When: Saturday, March 9th to Sunday, March 17th; 9:30am – 4:30pm daily

Where: Toronto Zoo, 2000 Meadowvale Rd, Toronto, ON M1B 5K7

Are you up for an adventure? If so, then you should definitely go visit Toronto Zoo for its March Break Big Adventure. The event is brought to you by Thomas & Friends, and you’ll learn all about Thomas’ newly made friends, as well as different regions and animals. All in all, it’s going to be a full week of fun for parents and children alike, so don’t miss it.

2. March Break at the Royal Ontario Museum

When: Saturday, March 9th to Sunday, March 17th; 10:30am – 4pm daily

Where: Royal Ontario Museum, 100 Queen’s Park, Toronto, ON M5S 2C6

Cost: Surcharged exhibitions not included with general admission

Interested in art, culture, and nature from all around the world? Then the Royal Ontario Museum is where you want to be for March break. You’ll be able to explore the art and culture of one of India’s greatest former kingdoms, meet a new species of dinosaur in the ROM original exhibition, and much more.

3. Art Gallery of Ontario

Where: Art Gallery of Ontario, 317 Dundas Street West Toronto, Ontario M5T IG4

Cost: Free with general admission

How does the idea of nine days of fun for the whole family sound to you? If you are interested in spending an unforgettable March break with your family look no further then Art Gallery of Ontario. Join artists Natalie Ferguson and Toby Gilles for an immersive art installation and a family art-making experience, and enjoy a playful sculpture of faux food.

4. March Break Mystery at Black Creek Pioneer Village

When: Monday, March 11th to Sunday, March 17th; 10am – 4pm

Where: Black Creek Pioneer Village, 1000 Murray Ross Pkwy North York, ON M3J 2P3

Cost: Free – $15

Crime strikes the Black Creek Pioneer Village and it’s up to you to help Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson solve the case. First, you attend Watson’s Detective School, then it’s all about cracking codes and hunting for clues. You’ll also get the chance to interview villagers and suspects.

5. Fantasy Fair

When: Daily 12am – 7pm

Where: Woodbine Shopping Centre & Fantasy Fair, 500 Rexdale Blvrd, Etobicoke, ON M9W 6K5

Cost:  General admission is free. To enjoy rides and attractions, purchase an Unlimited Ride Pass or individual ride tickets.

March break is a perfect time for an adventure. Come to Fantasy Fair and you’ll experience over a dozen full-size rides and attractions including Rock’N’Climb Challenge, Drop & Hop Tower, The XD simulator, and much more. If you bring a group, you’ll enjoy discount rates.

6. Ontario Science Centre

Cost: $9 – $28

Ontario Science Centre has plenty to offer for every age. And this year you’ll be able to celebrate 50 years with Ontario Science Centre with a thrilling lineup of special exhibitions to discover. With that in mind, there’s never been a better time to visit.

7. Maple Syrup Festival

When: Monday, March 11th to Friday March 15th; 9:30am – 5pm

Where: Various locations

Cost: $5.75 – $8.85

The Maple Syrup Festival takes place at four locations including Bruce’s Mill, Kortright Centre, Island Lake, and Terra Cotta. Come and enjoy demonstrations, wagon rides, family-fun activities, and of course, lots and lots of pancakes and real maple syrup.

8. Children’s Urban Enrichment Studio

Children’s Urban Enrichment Studio offers a variety of recreational programs and activities designed to build character, encourage confidence, and create lasting friendships and memories. Activities include art, music, dance, theatre, puppetry, board games, cooking, baking, creative movement, sports, games, and physical fitness.

9. Playdium

Where: 99 Rathburn Road West Mississauga, ON L5B 4CT

If you want to take March break to a whole new level, and fill it with all sorts of adventures, then you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to visit Playdium, the ultimate interactive, virtual, and physical family entertainment centre. The 40,000 sq. ft. indoor complex features more than 200 high-tech attractions, rides, and simulators including MaxFlight Roller Coaster Simulator, Laser Maze, The XD Dark Ride, and more. Playdium also features one of canada’s longest Go-Kart tracks, and a unique 18-hole miniature golf course.

10. Bowlerama
