If you’re looking for some local happenings this weekend, look no further as this is the post for you! We’ve got a list of ten fun things to do in Etobicoke this weekend with something for everyone! Let’s get started!
1. Theatre Etobicoke’s Hotbed Hotel

Where: The Assembly Hall, 1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Dr, Etobicoke, ON M8V 4B6
Cost: $20 – $23
Theatre Etobicoke’s latest production is running for four days and is not to be missed! This comedy by Michael Parker is set in the Florida Keys and tells the story of two hotel owners trying to sell their property. They end up hatching a hair-brained scheme that unfolds into a series of hilarious events.
2. “Seasons” at Richview Public Library

Where: Richview Public Library, 1806 Islington Ave, Etobicoke, ON M9P 3N3
If you’re a lover of local art, then you should definitely check out this exhibition of paintings by Julia Chmilnitzky. This Ontario artist will be showcasing a beautiful selection of scenic paintings under the subject “Seasons”. If you can’t make it this weekend, not to worry, as the exhibition will be running for the entire month of June.
3. Annual June BBQ at Horner Avenue Senior Centre

Where: Horner Avenue Senior Centre, 320 Horner Ave, Etobicoke, ON M8W 1Z3
Cost: $8 – $10
This is the weekend for the annual Horner Avenue Seniors’ Centre BBQ. Head on over for a fun afternoon of entertainment and delicious food! Non-members are welcome to join in the festivities.
4. Etobicoke Centennial Choir’s Alumni Evening

When: Saturday, June 3rd, 7:30pm
Where: Humber Valley United Church, 76 Anglesey Blvd, Etobicoke, ON M9A 3C1
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Etobicoke Centennial Choir and they’re celebrating with a special concert. This musical smorgasbord will include Classical, Canadian, and Contemporary, and will feature delights from Mozart, Handel, Bach, and more.
5. Haven on the Q Community Environmental Day

When: Saturday, June 3rd, 10am – 3pm
Where: East Parking lot of the Church on the Queensway, 1536 The Queensway, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 1T5
If you’ve got any old electronics or textiles to get rid of, bring them down to Church on the Queensway on Saturday where you know they’ll go to a good cause. Haven on the Q is a not-for-profit helping Torontonians in a variety of ways. This event will raise funds for the organization as well as bring members of the community together.
6. Gently Used Clothing and Accessories Sale

Where: Islington Seniors’ Centre, 4968 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M9A 1B7
If you’re looking to update your wardrobe and don’t mind gently used items, you’ll find some fantastic bargains at Islington Seniors’ Centre’s Clothing and Accessories Sale. Aside from all kinds of clothes, there’ll be purses, belts, scarves, jewelry, and more.
7. Spring Babies at the Zoo Walking Tour

When: Sunday, June 4th, 10:30am – 12:00pm
Where: High Park (benches across from Grenadier Pond), 1873 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6R 2Z3
This time of year spells cuteness overload at the High Park Zoo, as there are lots of spring babies to coo over. You can visit the animals and learn all about them from zookeeper Sonya Dittkrist on this guided walking tour. You’ll likely see chicks, the capybara pups, a barbary kid, and even a brand new bison calf!
8. Sherway Farmers’ Market Opens

Where: Parking lot of Church on the Queensway, 1536 The Queensway, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 1T5
There’s yet another local farmers’ market opening its stalls this weekend. Note that the Sherway Farmers’ Market has moved to a new location in the parking lot of Church on the Queensway, but will be open at its regular time of 8am – 2pm. There’ll be plenty of produce as well as meat, cheese, honey, preserves, pies, and more. If you can’t make it to this market, check out other farmers’ markets in Etobicoke that are already open or set to soon.
9. Beat the Heat Summer Bash by Black Oak Brewery

When: Saturday, June 3rd, 2pm – 8pm
Where: Black Oak Brewing Company Ltd, 75 Horner Ave, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 4X5
Cost: $20 – $25
Black Oak Brewing Company has been busy developing a brand new tasty and refreshing brew, especially for summer. This Saturday sees the release of “Beat the Heat” Belgian Wheat Beer which will be available at the LCBO starting this month. To celebrate, Black Oak is holding a bash where you get to see inside the brewery, meets the brewers, and sample their offerings. There’ll be seven taps, live Caribbean music, and some delicious eats!
10. Free Kids Baseball Clinic by True North Sports Camps

When: Sunday, June 4th, 3:30pm – 5pm
Where: Rosethorn Junior Public School, 2 Remington Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9A 2J1
If you’ve got a baseball fan in the family and they’d like to hone their skills, you can head on over to the free baseball clinic at Rosethorn Junior School on Sunday. This event offered by True North Sports Camp is open to kids aged 7-14 and will give them the opportunity to meet with coaches and learn something new.
