Listing your home during the holidays?

Centennial Park Conservatory Etobicoke

Is listing your home before the holidays a good idea? Many clients thinking about selling their home wait for the spring market.  After all, won’t I get a better price for my home in the spring? Perhaps but maybe not.

There really isn’t a “right time” to list your home.  The right time to list your home is when you’ve ready to sell and you’ve prepared your home for the market.

There are some advantages of listing your home during the holidays. Things that you should think about:

  1. Only serious buyers will view your property so when someone books a showing, you know they’re serious about buying
  2. There are fewer homes on the market so your home will get more attention with buyers
  3. Most homes show well with their festive decor in their homes
  4. There’s more competition in the spring market.  December is a slower month with fewer listings on the market.  Serious buyers needing to buy, have less selection. They may just choose your home!

Lots to consider when deciding if listing your home during the holidays is a good idea for you. At the end of the day, the best time to list is when it’s right for you family.
