10 Fun Things to Do in Etobicoke Over the Holidays

Looking for some exciting events to attend this holiday season? Fortunately, you don’t have to go far to have fun as our local area has plenty to offer. To help you out, we’ve come up with a list of ten fun things to do in Etobicoke and surrounding areas over the holidays. Let’s jump right in!

1. Skating at Princess Wales Skating Rink

This ice rink is located in a quiet neighbourhood of New Toronto steps away from the lake. This is a single pad outdoor ice rink equipped with a change house, including two change rooms and washroom facilities. The rink offers both supervised and unsupervised skates including public skates and shinny hockey for various age groups.

2. Skating: Colonel Samuel Smith Park

This park is located along a stretch of wooded shoreline in the Kipling and Lakeshore area. It is home to a variety of plants, trees, birds and other wildlife, as well as a network of paths and the city’s first ice skating trail (in a figure-eight shape). The pleasure ice skating trail is located next to the Power House Recreation Centre (65 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Rd.).

3.  Old fashion Christmas at Pioneer Village

Where: Black Creek Pioneer Village, 1000 Murray Ross Pkwy, North

Ever wondered what Christmas wonderland would look like in year gone by? If so, then you should definitely bring your family to Family Christmas Weekends over at Black Creek Pioneer Village and discover the magic of an old-fashioned Christmas.

4.  Christmas Favourites at The Bake Sale

Where: Two great  Etobicoke locations – 3076 Bloor St W & 5230 Dundas St W

If you want to make this holiday season even more special, pick up a few treats from The Sale. Try a few Christmas Cake Pops, Snowman Cupcakes, Mini Gingerbread kits and so much more!

5. Snow Magic

Where: Ontario Place

Experience a drive-thru art exhibit and wonderland that only dreams are made of. Let epic creatures, caverns, sights & lights surround you.

When: Up until Sunday, January 16th 2022

6.Cloverdale Mall – SANTAPALOOZA

When: Up to December 24th

Where: Cloverdale Mall – 250 The East Mall, Etobicoke,

Cloverdale is going full-on Santa with 30 inflatable Santa look-alikes setting the scene for a fun and festive outdoor photo op.  It’s the not-to-be-missed photo opportunity of the season!  Grab your camera, your family and friends and head to the northeast parking lot to snap a socially-distanced selfie at Cloverdale’s inflatable photo installation.

7. Montgomery InnWinter Farmers Market

Where: Montgomery Inn – 4709 Dundas St. W, Etobicoke

Shop indoors with a limited number of vendors each week for local veggies, baked goods, prepared foods and more! Wednesdays from 2-6 p.m. Please wear a mask. You can also order online at montgomerysinnovators.ca/virtual-farmers-market

8. Sherway Gardens Light Displays

Browse the spectacular light displays through the Mall.

 

9. Etobicoke Christmas Music Showcase

When: Dec. 19th 2021

Where: 156 Sixth Street New Toronto

10. Visit with Santa at Cloverdale Mall

Visit with Santa at Cloverdale Mall

When: Daily November 17th – December 24th, times vary

Where: Cloverdale Mall, 250 The East Mall Toronto, ON M9B 3Y8

If you want to make this wonderful time of the year even more special for your children, then meeting Santa is definitely a way to go. Just choose a time that suits your family best, and your children will be enjoying the company of the jolliest man around. If Sherway is your mall of preference, not to worry, Santa will be there too!
