As summer ends and fall begins, there are a ton of fantastic festivals and events happening right on our doorstep. So if you want to stay local, there is plenty to entertain you. Our list is packed full of fun things to do in Etobicoke this weekend, with something for everyone! Let’s jump in!
1. Terry Fox Run in West Deane Park

When: Sunday, September 17th, 8am – 1pm
Where: West Deane Park, 376 Martin Grove Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9B 4L9
The annual Terry Fox Run in West Deane Park is happening this Sunday. This all-inclusive non-competitive run raises money for cancer research and is a wonderful community event. You can run, walk, cycle, or ride all or part of the fully accessible 10km course. There’ll be a silent auction, a BBQ, free massages, and a live band.
2. Park Party in Bell Manor Park

When: Friday, September 15th, 3pm – 6pm
Where: Bell Manor Park, 1 Bayside Ln, Etobicoke, ON M8Y
This Arts Etobicoke event is part of the My City My Six project and is set to be a fun day for the whole family. The schedule is jam-packed including face painting, a corn roast, a garden poetry tour, and lots of musical and spoken word performances.
3. This-n-That Sale

Where: Martin Grove United Church, 75 Pergola Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9W 5K4
Treasure hunters delight as yet another fall sale is set to take place this weekend. Head over to Martin Grove United Church on Saturday for their This-and-That sale. There’ll be bargains to be had on everything from household items to jewelry, and a BBQ to enjoy afterwards.
4. Walk for Change

Where: LAMP Community Health Centre, 185 Fifth St, Etobicoke, ON M8V 2Z5
Another great charity event taking place this weekend is the Walk for Change in support of LAMP Community Health Centre’s mental health and addiction services. Aside from raising money, it also raises awareness about the mental health issues many Canadians face.
5. Roncesvalles Polish Festival

Where: Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto, ON M6R 2K2
The annual Roncesvalles Polish Festival is in its 12th year and they sure know how to throw a party. The whole of Roncesvalles Avenue will be closed to traffic for the weekend and you can roam the street soaking in the atmosphere. This celebration of Polish culture involves lots of great food, music, and dancing. There’ll also be a midway, an art zone, and a car show, so something for everyone!
6. Pioneer Harvest Festival

Where: Black Creek Pioneer Village, 1000 Murray Ross Pkwy, North York, ON M3J 2P3
The Pioneer Harvest Festival celebrates Mennonite and Pennsylvania-German culture through an immersive experience. You can sample lots of yummy homemade food, such as pies, sausages, and apple butter, as well as some historic ales. There’ll also be lots of demonstrations including candle-dipping and sausage-making, a quilt auction, and a rummage sale.
7. Nordstrom Beauty Bash

Where: Nordstrom, Sherway Gardens Mall, 25 The West Mall, Etobicoke, ON M9C 1B8
It’s official opening day for Nordstrom at Sherway Gardens Mall and they’re celebrating with a beauty bash! If you love all things beauty then you won’t want to miss out. Grab a friend and indulge in a morning of free consultations, beauty tips, and product sampling.
8. Learning Through Play Drop-In

Where: Christ Church St James, 194 Park Lawn Rd, Etobicoke, ON M8Y 3J1
LAMP runs regular drop-in programs enabling children and caregivers to play in a different environment and socialize with others. This weekly program is open to children up to six years old and includes activities, games, learning circles, and more.
9. Community BBQ at Humber Valley United Church

Humber Valley United Church is celebrating the start of the fall season with a community BBQ lunch. The event starts immediately following Sunday service and all are welcome. Aside from delicious food, there’ll also be lots of games to play and prizes to be won.
10. Heritage Antique Market Cloverdale

The Heritage Antique Market is back at Cloverdale Mall this Sunday. There’ll be a ton on offer, including furniture, art, and collectibles. What’s more, there’s also an appraisal clinic, so dig out your family heirlooms and find out what they’re worth.
